OUR STORY
Ibiza Catering is owned and operated by Atlanta residents Jamie and Raf Morales.
Raf grew up in his grandmother’s kitchen, where she passed along the traditional Venezuelan recipes she had learned from the generations before her. His teen years were spent assisting his mother in her successful catering business. He never intended to follow in his family’s footsteps; instead, he earned a business degree and spent several years working in the corporate world. But one might say that the passion for cooking was simmering inside him all along…
In the early 2000s, Raf and Jamie took a sabbatical from the business world to explore Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America – and it was here that the dream for Ibiza Catering took root. After experiencing incredible local street food prepared in the humblest of settings, Raf’s passion for the “chef life” was reawakened. He found inspiration among the market stalls where simple meals made of fresh, local ingredients were crafted by skilled artisans who learned their trade from generations before them.
Ibiza Catering began in 2010 with a single food truck and has since grown into one of the Southeast’s premier boutique catering companies. Chef Raf created a global brand of cuisine called “SoLa” — a blend of bold and exotic Latin American flavors and good ole’ deep South favorites, governed by fresh, seasonal ingredients – and has since expanded his menu to serve a broader catering audience. His SoLa creations earned the company immediate accolades, including Best of Atlanta Food Truck 2011 by Atlanta Magazine and one of the Top 15 New Food Concepts in America by the Food Network.
While Raf leads the menu development and overall creative direction of the company, Jamie works behind the scenes, overseeing the day-to-day administration of Ibiza Catering, and providing detailed organization and planning to ensure that each and every event is conducted flawlessly from start to finish.
Today, Ibiza Catering maintains its corporate office in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The company boasts a custom, state-of-the-art commissary kitchen, three mobile kitchens/food trucks, a fleet of catering vans as well as numerous support vehicles.
